Hey there again Greenies,

I hope you all had a great weekend and have enjoyed some cooler temps today!

Having some NBN issues at home has caused delays to my usual weekend workload so apologies for the lateness and briefness of this week's update email.

This week's feature plants and photos are both 130mm sized pots, have stunning flowers and are great for landscaping in two very different ways. The Duranta Alba is a stunning upright growing bush with aspirations of becoming hedging but equally impressive as a feature, whereas the Myoporum Purpurea is an exquisite ground cover with dainty white flowers in Spring and Summer, perfect for the rockery or even a lawn in light traffic areas.

Have a great week all!

Best wishes

Jo

Happy New Year Perthlings!

May 2021 bring you all that you wish for and more!

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead of us, with lots of new and interesting stock being nurtured by our amazing staff for your enjoyment. Our prop shed is full to bursting and we've had great success with growing some lines from seed for the first time.

Our new mixed lineup of Canna Lilies are looking amazing to see in the new year with an explosion of colour! The assortment comprise of Bronze Orange, Shades of Red, Rosa and Yellow, just like a party popper going off!

For some subtle colour we have the divine, fragrant Trachelospermum Tricolour which brings the promise of variegated, pastel toned foliage all year round and heavenly fragrant, petite white flowers adorning its mounding ground cover or upwardly creeping, trained growth in Spring/Summer. Planted in full sun or part shade this beauty lends itself to adorning trellis, being shaped into low hedging or allowed to do it's own thing and become an awesome ground cover.

Last but by no means least Plumeria Pink! This iconic, tropical beauty couldn't be easier and tolerates all manner of conditions. Deciduous, but stunning to watch through the seasonal changes of this incredible feature and blooming in late Spring/Summer. For a fabulous patio or garden feature use well draining soil and an ornate pot to create your own tropical ambiance.

Leaving you here to ponder over this week's offerings but always just a phone call away!

Have a great first week of 2021 :)

Best wishes

Jo

Welcome to the windy weekend WA!

Talk about blustery! Not at all helpful to the valiant Firefighters tackling blazes all over the place at the moment but especially the ones struggling to fight the blaze that closed the Kwinana Freeway yesterday! I was lucky to get through before the road closure, when I passed by the plumes of smoke were terrifying! So this is a shout out to those brave men and women working tirelessly to save the homes and lives of strangers, where would we be without them! Thank you for putting yourselves at risk for the safety of others!

It was great to see the Canna lilies bursting into a sea of colourful flowers this week, stunning beauties! But waiting for Autumn to present it's tiny star-like flowers are the Coleonema (Diosma in old money lol)! The Album and Compactum (white and Pink) are flushing with gorgeous evergreen, shrubby foliage right now, the warmer weather encouraging their growth in leaps and bounds!

More colour is being added to the nursery's palate by the red and yellow Russelia, their evergreen foliage enjoying the full sun so much they just can't help themselves and will spend the summer popping out those perfect little trumpet shaped flowers to celebrate!

If pastel tones are more your hue the beautiful, slow growing Trachelospermum Tricolour may be the plant for you! Its variegated cream and green foliage is topped with pink and cream tones from the new growth tips adorning this mounding groundcover. So flexible is this fragrant flowering stunner that it can be coaxed into hedging or trained on trellis in full sun or part shade, definitely a winner!

Here's wishing you all a great week!
