  • Another name Alternanthera is known by...Joyweed!

  • Some species of Alternanthera are classed as a herb, yet others are a noxious weed!

  • Some Alternanthera species are Aussie natives.

  • There's an edible variety that grows in water...Alternanthera Sessilis.

  • There's a species that rabbits like to eat.

  • There's estimated to be between 80 and 200 species of Alternanthera.

  • Little Ruby likes full sun.

  • Little Ruby is drought tolerant once established.

  • Little Ruby grows to just one third of the size of the common variety and is more frost tolerant.
